Music Policy Students will be sent the music for all bands and piano ensembles approximately one month before the camp starts. Students are responsible to be familiar with all parts before coming to camp. Failure to do so may result in a change in band status or dismissal from camp. If students have questions about the music, they should seek private instruction or mark the music for help on the first day of camp. Students are responsible for the care of each piece of music given to them. At the end of camp, all students must turn in the music in good condition. Failure to do so may result in a $25.00 fine. Students asked to participate in the masterclass may play a prepared piece of their choice. Masterclass participants will be asked to play this piece for the director on the first few days in order to make sure the preparation is acceptable. Students asked to participate in small ensembles will be given music on the first day of camp. |

Concerts and Ministry Opportunities At the YMO Summer Music Camp, students will be given the unique opportunity to not only learn great music, but also use this music to share God’s love with those around them. Throughout the two weeks, we will be performing a variety of concerts for church services, retirement homes, and other community events around the Santa Barbara area. The camp will conclude with a final concert open to family friends and community members. |
